Qualifications:
The project prefers candidates to hold a four-year bachelor degree preferably in GIS/RS technology, but also any degree in geography, natural resources, or computer science with experience as an advance GIS user. The candidate must be familiar with databases and Geo Database, knowledgeable of today’s GIS and RS standards and applications used in the national agencies, and understand the concepts of basic mapping, cartography, information system, mathematics, research methods, and database design principles. Experience in developing web-based GIS maps on the internet will be advantageous.
The candidate will also be able to: (a) prioritize and organize, work well under stress, meet deadlines; (b) be flexible and adapt to constant change; (c) to work flexible hours, this position requires shift work over nights and weekends; and (d) to perform field work and travel when required.
Time Frame:
The candidates will be involved in the project for a period of 12 (twelve) months, which can be extended by the Project Team Leader when necessary.

Black Platinum Energy Ltd is an Oil & Gas exploration company which currently has 6 PSCs (2 as operated). We are immediately seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill a position of:
Geographic Information System Coordinator (GIS Coordinator)
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Producing PSCs Location Maps, Montages, Geological and Geophysical Maps, Logistic Maps as required in presentations and reports
- Providing senior management with exhibits for budget & board presentations
- Maintaining Database for Wells, 2D Seismic Lines and also 3D Seismic Grids and G&G Reports
- G&G Data Processing and Interoperability between ArcGIS/MapInfo and petroleum exploration software (SMT Kingdom, Petrosys, Hampson-Russell and GS Software)
- Assisting and supporting logistic team, driiling team, geologists and geophysicists in G&G Studies, Seismic Survey Design/Planning and Well Planning & Drilling
- Compiling geographic data from a variety of sources (e.g. field observation, scanned old maps, old wells location)
- Maintaining the GIS Database in line with company business objectives
Requirements:
- a University degree in geodetic engineering, geology, or related field
- have at least 3 - 5 years experience in oil/gas exploration and/or production company
- experienced and skilled with software packages such MapInfo,ArcGIS, Autocad, Corel Draw, MS Access and other GIS systems as well as capability in Kingdom, Petrosys, GS, or PetroView is a plus.
- good English communication and interpersonal skills
